Site 11: Megalithic Tomb in the Altfreren Woods
The megalithic tomb is in a forest north of Freren in the southern Emsland. It has an impressive chamber of 20.5 metres length. The orthostats are mostly intact. But only four of probably former eleven capstones are undamaged. The enclosure of the grave is incomplete, but characterises the grave as a so-called “Emsland Chamber”.
